Ok, so now to lay out a plan for how I am going to realise the challenge of #Fish52. My kids thought that it would be a good idea to have at least one adventure per month mixed in with weekly trips to the canal. This would provide variety to the plan and allow me to tick a few bigger items off of my fishing “To Do” list. So I have sketched out some options for different times of the year.
The basic plan:
- January
- Canals only
- Feb
- Canals only
- March
- Canals at start of month
- Llynnau Gamallt Lakes (CAA) once season opens
- April
- Llyn Cwmorthin Lake (CAA)
- Easter Fishing on Aberystwyth Angling Association waters
- May
- Claerwen Reservoir early May Bank Holiday
- Wild Rainbows on the river Wye – end of May (hopefully during the May Fly)
- June
- Llyn Bugeilyn Lake
- Llyn Gwgia Lake
- July
- Sea Trout at Bridge Pool
- Llyn Teifi Lake
- August
- Llyn Conlog Lake (CAA)
- September
- Llynnau Gamallt Lakes (CAA)
- Llyn Adar Lake (CAA)
- October
- Llyn Conlog Lakes (CAA)
- November
- Canals
- December
- Canals
However, the didn’t really get off the ground in this form …. between laying out the rough plan and the start of the year, a family medical emergency of major proportions saw me living away to help and care for my parents. So I had to get creative, swapping canal fishing for tackle maintenance and casting practice in the yard in January.
