Fish52 Plan

Ok, so now to lay out a plan for how I am going to realise the challenge of #Fish52. My kids thought that it would be a good idea to have at least one adventure per month mixed in with weekly trips to the canal. This would provide variety to the plan and allow me to tick a few bigger items off of my fishing “To Do” list. So I have sketched out some options for different times of the year.

The basic plan:

  • January
    1. Canals only
  • Feb
    1. Canals only
  • March
    1. Canals at start of month
    2. Llynnau Gamallt Lakes (CAA) once season opens
  • April
    1. Llyn Cwmorthin Lake (CAA)
    2. Easter Fishing on Aberystwyth Angling Association waters
  • May
    1. Claerwen Reservoir early May Bank Holiday
    2. Wild Rainbows on the river Wye – end of May (hopefully during the May Fly)
  • June
    1. Llyn Bugeilyn Lake
    2. Llyn Gwgia Lake
  • July
    1. Sea Trout at Bridge Pool
    2. Llyn Teifi Lake
  • August
    1. Llyn Conlog Lake (CAA)
  • September
    1. Llynnau Gamallt Lakes (CAA)
    2. Llyn Adar Lake (CAA)
  • October
    1. Llyn Conlog Lakes (CAA)
  • November
    1. Canals
  • December
    1. Canals

However, the didn’t really get off the ground in this form …. between laying out the rough plan and the start of the year, a family medical emergency of major proportions saw me living away to help and care for my parents. So I had to get creative, swapping canal fishing for tackle maintenance and casting practice in the yard in January.
