FlyFishingScience Productions, founded in 2020, produce beautiful fly fishing movies that deliver science, historical and conservation content while exploring beautiful locations and enjoying the sport we love.
The company was borne out of my desire to take my life in a different direction, call it my mid-life crisis as 50 approached. It started in early 2020 when I went to watch Artifishal at a special screening. The documentary really had a major impact on me and it combined my love of science with my passions for conservation and fishing. During the COVID19 lockdown when we couldn’t fish I spent plenty of time watching fly fishing movies and was really inspired by the ability to move people to action, impart knowledge and celebrate our sport. I resolved to give this a go, building on my experimentation while out fishing. My first film project in Wales is in the planning phase with the aspiration to film it in the autumn of 2020.
