This is a mid-altitude (322 m) little fished 10 ha lake with a natural head of smallish brown trout that have wonderful markings. The low alkaliinity (17 µEq/l) llyn is one of theman made Aberystwyth Angling Association lakes fed by a 535 ha catchment dominated by acid grassland with minor bog. The lake is typically shallow with a mean depth of 3.3 m and carries a little colour (mean colour 29.2 mgPt/l).
There is no path or easy access along the 2 km shoreline and by the looks of it it could be a bit of a slog requiring waders and/or gaiters. The bank along the road where it runs along the edge of the lake is steep, shaley and unstable making it difficult to get down to the edge of the water if you did manage to hook a fish. Need to give it a go next Easter.
